Abbreviated Description. Indumentum of simple hairs, leaves trifoliolate or rarely unifoliolate, leaflets opposite, mostly 5.5–13 cm long, 1.3–3.2 cm broad, narrowly elliptic or oblanceolate, densely glandular-punctate and/or -striate, inflorescence 1.5–12 cm long, usually clustered on new growth in the axils of caducous scale-leaves, a slender thyrse, petals (4–)5, mostly 2.5–3 mm long, free, imbricate, filaments free or fused for up to two thirds of their length, anthers 10, nectary annular to patelliform, ovary 3-locular, glabrous, locules with 2 collateral ovules, style-head 3-lobed, fruit 0.8–2 cm long, 3-valved, ovoid, oblong or elipsoid, pubescent to glabrous, seed solitary, completely covered by a thin arillode.

Distribution & Ecology. Southern Brazil, Paraguay, northern Argentina and Bolivia, and recently discovered in eastern Peru, in seasonally dry semi-deciduous forest up to 1800 m elevation, and along river margins in gallery forest.
