Distribution in Iran: Bushehr, Fars (Ebrahimi 2014), Hormozgan ( Ebrahimi 1993, 2014), Kerman (Ebrahimi 2014), Markazi (Ebrahimi 2014; Hadi et al. 2014), North Khorasan, Sistan-o Baluchestan ( Ebrahimi 1993, 2014), Tehran ( Sakenin et al. 2011b).
General distribution: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Central Asia, China, Greece, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Zaire.
Remarks: The subspecies Sceliphron madraspatanum pictum ( F. Smith, 1856) has been recorded from Iran ( Ebrahimi 1993, 2014).
