Distribution in Iran: Fars ( Atbaei et al. 2015; Rezaei & Fallahzadeh 2015), Mazandaran (de Beaumont 1957).

General distribution: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Morocco, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.

Remarks: The subspecies Astata costae costae has been recorded from Iran ( Atbaei et al. 2015; Rezaei & Fallahzadeh 2015).
