Plateros celebensis Pic, 1921b: 7 .
Remark. Pic (1921b) included the description of Plateros celebensis in a key to new species of Plateros and Melampyrus Waterhouse, 1879 from Asia. The diagnoses are very short and exclusively based exclusively on external characters, and no earlier described species are included in the key. Unfortunately, we were not able to found the type specimen in the Pic's collection, and therefore only the original information given by Pic (1921b) is available. Considering body colouration, P. celebensis differs from remaining species known from the area. The translation of Pic's original diagnosis follows: "(18) Elytra black, prothorax red, sometimes with dark patch. (21) Prothorax slightly narrowed frontally, larger, red, with small dark patch before scutellum. Length 7 mm, Celebes".
