Distribution. China (Hainan, Taiwan), India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.
Remarks. This is a very widely distributed species in the Oriental region ( Viraktamath, 2011). It is here recorded for the first time from mainland China. It closely resembles the Palaearctic Austroagallia avicula (Ribaut) from which it differs in the shape of the aedeagus and apical process of the shaft. The single female collected from China differs from the typical form in lacking a small brown spot below the base of the antennae on the gena ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 B). The male illustrated in Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 is from India (Karnataka).
