Type material examined. Holotype ( Figs 88 View FIGURES 86–93 , 192 View FIGURES 192–195 ): ♂, “SW China, Yunnan, Yunfe Shan [Yunfeng Mts,], W Gudong, Techong env., 25°22.623´N, 98°24.351´E, 2400 m, 1–2.VI.2013, leg. Petr Viktora ”, slide MWM 31422 Volynkin (Coll. MWM/ ZSM) GoogleMaps . Paratypes: 17 ♂ and 9 ♀ from China and Myanmar (Colls MWM/ ZSM, NHMUK, AFM & ASV) listed by Volynkin & Černý (2018c) .
Diagnosis. Forewing length is 13–14 mm in males and 14–15.5 mm in females. Externally, B. asotoida is similar to B. persephone due to its light hindwings coloration, but differs by the presence of the medial transverse line of forewing consisting of three large brown spots, the much narrower distal brown area presented as a postmedial line, the presence of a broad creamy white subterminal area with broad but weak greyish longitudinal suffusion on veins, the presence of a diffuse subbasal transverse line on hindwing, the medial transverse line of hindwing situated more distally, and the absence of dark suffusion on veins in the subterminal area of hindwing. The male genitalia of B. asotoida are similar to those of B. specialis , but differ by their longer medial costal process (that is significantly shorter in B. specialis ), weaker distal saccular process directed dorsally (that is robust, and only its tip is slightly curved dorsally), and larger subbasal and medial ventral diverticula. The female genitalia of B. asotoida differ from those of B. specialis by the much narrower and shorter antrum, and narrower and slightly shorter appendix bursae.
Distribution. North Myanmar (Kachin) and South-West China (Yunnan) ( Volynkin & Černý 2018c).
