Aradus tonkinensis Kormilev & Heiss 1976
( Fig. 20,21 View FIGURES 17–23 , Photo 3)
Material examined: 1♀, China, Yunnan / Kubalung Mts. 25-28 06 92 / V . Kuban lg. ( CEHI) ; 1♀, Laos-N, 24 IV-16 V 1999 / Louang Phrabang Prov. / 20°33-4’ N 102°14’ E / Ban Song Cha (5km W) / 1200m, Vit Kuban lg. ( CEHI) .
Described from Vietnam, the abovementioned records in the collection CEHI are included here as they are the first ones known since the description of tonkinensis and represent therefore also a new record for the Chinese fauna.
Habitus, size, and colouration of A. tonkinensis are very close to A. spinicollis Jakovlev 1880 , known from several provinces of China ( Heiss 2001b, 2010); it can be confounded with the latter. In tonkinensis the antennae are more slender and relatively longer (compare Figs. 20,21 View FIGURES 17–23 with Figs. 22,23 View FIGURES 17–23 and Photos 3 and 4), the preocular acute tubercle is longer, and the paranota are more expanded and dentate; the scutellum is distinctly constricted at its posterior half and the posterolateral angles of dorsal external laterotergites (deltg) are more produced, particularly in the female.
