Comments. Steyskal (1968) pointed out that the specimens recorded by Malloch (1933) as E. annonae from Argentina and Chile, in fact, belong to Chaetopsis , but until now there has been no taxonomic study to solve this matter. Chilean records under E. annonae are misidentifications of other Euxesta species, Chaetopsis species, or from undescribed ones (Valery A. Korneyev, personal communication; Allen L. Norrbom, personal communication). Specimens from examined collections have wings with four dark bands, and the first flagellomere is angulated at its dorsal external apex, something recurved dorsally.
