Diagnosis. Head including eyes about as wide as mesonotum in general. Posterior pronotal collar very narrow. Wings hyaline. Male operculum small, scale-like. Male abdominal sternite III (and sometimes sternite IV) with tubercle-like projection or bump on each lateral surface in many genera. Male abdominal sternite VII distinctly separated from tergite 7 by folding. [See also Lee and Emery (2013) and Pham & Lee (2021).]
