Parco Naturale delle Alpi Marittime: AB, FAG, PAL numerous to very numerous, FRA, PRATO sparse.
General distribution: Northern Italy; Italian Alps (TN, Schatz unpubl.), southern France; Central, South, Southwest Europe; Mediterranean.
Habitat preferences: silvicolous, praticolous.
Remark: Some specimens from sites AB and PAL have comparatively longer notogastral setae (especially setae h 2, h 3 up to 22 µm, some are distally slightly flagelliform) which reminds Quadroppia longisetosa Minguez, Ruiz & Subías, 1985 . Other morphological differences between Qu. maritalis and Qu. longisetosa (translamella broader, head of bothridial seta almost smooth in Qu. maritalis, Lions 1982 ) confirm the assignment of these specimens to Qu. maritalis .
