Remark: Cepheidae Berlese, 1896 , the frequently used name for this oribatid mite family is a junior homonym of Cepheidae Agassiz, 1862 (Cnidaria) . A proposal to establish a replacement name for Cepheidae Berlese to the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature is submitted ( Halliday & Norton 2019).
