Comment: The holotype is in the BMNH London; Thomas did not describe or mention other specimens. Data from the original in the BMNH: Coast of Miri , NE of Sarawak, collected by Charles Hose 1887. Due to the date of discovery (year, collector), the specimen ZMB 7452, marked as type specimen of Semnopithecus cruciger, could not be a type .
