Erythrocebus zechi Matschie, 1905 View in CoL
Sitzungsberichte der Gesellschaft Naturforschender Freunde zu Berlin , p. 274
Current valid name: unknown, no specimen is available
Syntypes: Three specimens from Kete Kradji, Togo [ Kete Krachi , Volta Region, Ghana], collected by Graf von Zech, [ca. 1895–1898]; presumably received from Zoologischer Garten Berlin .
Comment: Matschie´s description is based on three young specimens from Kete Kradji, Togo [ Ghana], that lived in the zoological garden at the time. The whereabouts of those specimens are unknown; no marked or matching specimen could be found in the collection. However, Groves (2001) listed Erythrocebus zechi Matschie as a synonym for Erythrocebus patas (Schreber, 1774) —presumably based on the original description by Matschie.
