Holotype: ZMB 4008, male, adult, skin (=A 1284) and skull; “Nossi Vola oder Saralalan” [according to Tattersall 2022 Nosivola, east of Lake Alaotra ], Madagascar; collected by A. Crossley, 1869, vend. Gerrard.
