Otolicnus pusillus Peters, 1876
Monatsberichte der Königlich Preussischen Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Berlin , p. 473
Current valid name: Galagoides demidoff (Fischer, 1806)
Holotype: ZMB 4770, male, juvenile, skull and skin in alcohol; Dongila, Gabon; collected by Buchholz, donated by Reichenow, June 1873.
Comment: A further specimen in the General catalog—ZMB 2717—was labeled as type after Peters' time. According to the catalog entry, ZMB 2717 was from West Africa, lived in the Zoologischer Garten Berlin, collector and date were unknown. Peters registered that specimen as " Otolicnus peli or Otolicnus demidoffi " [sic]. Nevertheless, Peters used only the male specimen from Dongila, collected by Buchholz for description of Otolicnus pusillus . ZMB 2717 seems unlikely to be any kind of type. Finally, Schwarz (1931, p. 62) identified the specimen ZMB 4770 as the holotype of Otolicnus pusillus Peters, 1876 .
