Reise nach Mossambique, p. 2
Current valid name: Papio cynocephalus (Linnaeus, 1766)
Syntype: ZMB 8260 (= An 15837), male, juvenile, skull, and skeleton; Querimba; collected by Peters, between 1843 and 1847.
Comment: Peters did not specify a holotype; however, the species description was based mainly on a younger male. Due to the lack of further type specimens, ZMB 8260 would be suitable as a lectotype.
