Remarks
The species has to date been classified as Microserica Brenske, 1894 ( Ahrens 2004) ; however, the comparative morphology of the male genital organs of Microserica , Gynaecoserica and other Asian sericine lineages make it more likely that this species is closely related to the other taxa of Gynaecoserica sharing the medially fused parameres (hypothesized synapomorphy of the genus). Therefore, this species is here transferred to Gynaecoserica . Its distribution is limited to the hilly and mountainous regions from East-Nepal to Bhutan ( Figure 10A View Figure 10 ).
