Genus Cingulacarus Elsen

Cingulacarus Elsen, 1975: 348 . Type species Cingulacarus gangeticus Elsen, 1975 , by monotypy.

Diagnosis (adults). Dorsal shield oval shaped, covering whole dorsum, slightly bent to venter posteriorly; with 32–39 pairs and one unpaired (j2) setae; setae heterogeneous in shape and size, including 5–6 pairs of elongated submarginals, 2–3 pairs on podonotal and three pairs on opisthonotal areas of shield, posterior pair longest. Tritosternal laciniae fused for more than half of their length, plumose. Female sternal and metasternal shields fused, moderately narrow medially, arched ( Figures 3–4 View FIGURES 3–6 and 18 View FIGURES 14–18 ); with three pairs of setae, st1 and st3 inserted at the same level on anterior margin of shield. Latigynal shields subtriangular, twice as long as wide, each with two setae; mesogynal shield small, somewhat elongate trapezoidal ( Figure 5 View FIGURES 3–6 ) and free. Vaginal sclerites without lateral projections ( Figure 4 View FIGURES 3–6 ). Ventrianal shield expansive and fused with exopodal and peritrematal shields, posteriorly sub-triangular, extending almost to posterior margin of idiosoma; shield hypotrichous, with six pairs of setae including one pair of para-anals inserted at anterior level of anus, anterior ventrianal setae (Jv1) intercoxal. Ventrimarginal shields large, laterally flanking ventrianal shield, narrowly fused to each other posteriorly, and to peritrematal (at level of coxae II) and dorsal shield anteriorly; each shield with 1–8 setae: single Zv4 seta always present, seven posterior R -series setae may be captured by either ventrimarginal or dorsal shield. Peritremes long, extending to coxae I. Two porous areas present dorsolateral to peritremes at level of coxae I and II. Hypostomal region unspecialised, similar in male and female; hypostomal setae simple, h3 inserted almost between h 1–2 in an oblique line; subcapitular setae pectinate ( Figure 8 View FIGURES7–10 ). Excrescences on moveable digit of chelicera in female different from those of male: movable digit of chelicerae in female with three brushy excrescences, and a comb-like structure slightly longer than movable digit ( Figures 11–12 View FIGURES 11–13 ), but in male with two brushy excrescences and a scoop-like process ( Figure 13 View FIGURES 11–13 ). Setae pd1 on genua III–IV elongated ( Figures 16–17 View FIGURES 14–18 ); setae ad1 and pd1 on tarsi II–IV lanceolate ( Figure 16 View FIGURES 14–18 , inset).
