Described from Bermuda, but known widely around the world in association with the flowers of cultivated Amaryllidaceae View in CoL such as Hymenocallis ( Mound & Tree 2009) View in CoL , antennal segment IV of this species varies in shape depending on the body size ( Figs 3, 4 View FIGURES 1 – 8 ). The species is widespread in China, but specimens collected from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, are unusual in lacking campaniform sensilla on the metanotum, in contrast to specimens studied from other parts of the world.
