Material examined. VIETNAM: 1 ex., Tonkin, Hoa-Binh, 1934, de Cooman coll. (de Cooman det.); 1 ex., Tonkin, Hoa-Binh, 1935, de Cooman coll. (de Cooman det.); 1 ex., Tonkin, Hoa-Binh, 1936, de Cooman coll.
(de Cooman det.); 1 male, Tonkin, Hoa-Binh, 1937, de Cooman coll. (de Cooman det.); CHINA: Yunnan: 1 male, 2 females, Xishuangbanna, west of Menglun, 560 m, dead wood, 2004. II.9, Jie Wu coll.; 2 females, Xishuangbanna, west of Menglun, 730 m, dead wood, 2004. II.13, Jie Wu coll.
Remarks. This species is very different in the body and genitalia morphology from the other congeners like P. m u s c u l u s, P. opulentus Cooman, 1932 and P. sulcatipygus Cooman, 1932 . The differences are summarized in Table 2 View TABLE 2 . Based on these differences, it might be better to place P. deficiens in a genus, separate from Pachylomalus . However, with only a limited material in hand, this problem can not be solved at present.
Distribution. China (Yunnan); Vietnam, Thailand, India (Meghalaya), Borneo.
