Genus Diplostix Bickhardt, 1921 View in CoL , new for China
Bickhardt, 1921: 152; G. Müller, 1946: 533 (Africa; key); Mazur, 1984: 130 (catalogue); 1997: 178 (catalogue); Löbl & Smetana, 2004: 74 (catalogue); Gomy & Vienna, 2004: 115 (Afro-tropical). Type species: Carcinops togoensis Lewis, 1895: 265 . Original designation.
Remarks. The genus Diplostix was established by Bickhardt (1921) for eight species separated from the genus Carcinops , based mainly on the following characters: metaventrite with two second lateral striae which are parallel or nearly parallel to each other. Thereafter, three additional species were described ( Reichardt 1936; Burgeon 1939; G. Müller 1946). Mazur (1984) transferred to Diplostix three species from the genus Carcinops . Gomy and Vienna (2004) described two additional species from the Afrotropical region. At present, the genus Diplostix includes 16 species worldwide. All the species of this genus are found in the Oriental and Afrotropical Regions. In this paper, we record the genus Diplostix (one species) for the first time in China.
