Diagnosis. A very long mouth part IS typIcal for the genuS Eugnoriste In both SeXeS. However, the hypopygIum reSembleS that of many SpecIeS of Pseudolycoriella Menzel & MohrIg by havIng two apIcal SpIneS, combIned wIth a long whIplaSh haIr. Some SpecIeS of Pseudolycoriella have an elongated mouth part aS well, but not to that eXtreme. SpecIeS of Eugnoriste dIffer from thoSe of Pseudolycoriella by havIng a concaved Inner SIde of the gonoStyluS, a bIlobated 9th SternIte, rowS of denSe, brIStle-lIke haIrS on the dIStal abdomInal tergIteS and C beIng Shorter 1/2 w. The SouthweStern StateS of the USA Seem to be the center of radIatIon of the genuS although a few SpecIeS are dIStrIbuted In Central AmerIca aS well.
