Holotype: Male, 13.–22.IX.1993, oak-pIne woodland, MalaISe trap, leg. N. McFarland, (PWMP).
Paratypes: 1 male, 22.–31.X.1993; 1 male, 1.–11.XI1993; 1 female, 5.–30.vIII.1993, Same localIty, leg. N. McFarland (all PWMP).
Description. Male. Head. Elongate, hIgher than long. Eye brIdge 3 facetS wIde. 4th flagellomere wIth l/w IndeX of 1.5, haIred whItISh, Shorter than the dIameter. PalpuS 3-Segmented, longer than the proboScIS; fIrSt Segment wIth 6–7 brIStleS and very Short haIr-lIke SenSIllae. Labrum and proboScIS elongate, but Shorter than the head hIgh. Thorax. Brown; Scutum wIth Short haIrS, Some lateral and preScutellar brIStleS longer. Scutellum wIth 2 Stronger brIStleS. PoSterIor pronotum bare. WIngS brownISh; R1 = 2/3 R; c = 1/2 w; y = X, bare; M-fork aS long aS M-Stem, narrow; CuA-Stem dIStInct, Somewhat Shorter X; poSterIor veInS dIStInct, wIthout macrotrIchIa. Haltere Short, brown. LegS brownISh; tIbIal organ of the fore tIbIae wIth a weakly bordered patch of brIStleS; mIddle and hInd tIbIae wIth thIn, equally long SpurS. ClawS wIthout teeth. Abdomen. The fIrSt fIve abdomInal tergIteS wIth SparSe and Short haIrS, the SIXth and the Seventh wIth denSer brIStleS on the mIddle of the dIStal margIn. The ventral baSe of the hypopygIum v-Shaped, wIthout lobe or denSer brIStleS; the Inner margIn of gonocoXIteS SparSely haIred, wIth a Small patch of brIStle near the mIddle of the Inner margIn. GonoStyluS are wIdely rounded. TheIr Inner SIde IS concaved along the entIre length and bearS two Strong apIcal SpIneS wIthIn Shorter brIStleS and a long whIplaSh haIr. The 9th SternIte IS ordInary Shaped. The tegmen IS longer than wIde and wIth a dIStInct area of fIne teeth. The aedeaguS IS rather long. Body length: 3.0 mm.
Female. Head elongate, hIgher than long. Eye brIdge 3 facetS wIde. 4th flagellomere wIth l/w IndeX of 1.2, haIrS whItISh, Shorter than the dIameter. PalpuS 3-Segmented, longer than the proboScIS; labrum and proboScIS elongate, aS long aS the head hIgh. ThoraX brown, Scutum wIth Short haIrS, Some lateral and preScutellar brIStleS are longer. Scutellum wIth 2 Stronger brIStleS. AbdomInal SegmentS wIth unIformly Short haIrS.
Comments. MaleS of the SpecIeS are characterIzed by weak cluSterS of brIStleS on the dIStal margIn of the SIXth and the Seventh tergIte, a Short mouth part (Shorter than the head hIgh), a wIdely rounded apeX of the gonoStyluS, no brIStleS on the membranouS part of the ventral baSe SIde of the hypopygIum and an ISolated Small patch of longer brIStleS near the mIddle of the gonocoXIteS.
