Distribution:— India [Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal], Bangladesh and Bhutan; 300‒ 1300 m.

Notes:—No type specimens were designated for Eugenia praecox or Eugenia lanceifolia , and no original material was found, so Roxburgh’s Icones are chosen here as lectotypes. Wight (1842) described Eugenia wallichii from material collected by Wallich but did not mention a type in the protologue. Wallich Catalogue Number 3606 was presumably consulted by Wight and is thus chosen as the lectotype.
