Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by having a blackish grey forewing with two ferrugineous red patches. It is similar to S. paraxanthostigma sp. nov., but can be distinguished in the male genitalia by the saccus pointed apically; in the female genitalia by the appendix bursae with about 46 denticles. In S. paraxanthostigma sp. nov., the saccus is obtusely rounded apically in the male genitalia; the appendix bursae has 18 denticles in the female genitalia. The new species is also similar to S. xanthostigma sp. nov. in the features of the genitalia, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the latter species.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 3‒12 ). Wingspan 7.5‒9.5 mm. Head silvery grey, occiput blackish brown. Labial palpus ferrugineous red. Antenna with scape ferrugineous red; flagellum black. Thorax and tegula blackish brown, with silvery grey metallic luster. Forewing blackish grey, with two large ferrugineous red patches: subbasal patch larger, running to beyond basal 1/3, concave inward on outer margin; median patch smaller, slightly beyond middle, obtuse on outer margin, produced inward from middle of inner margin; shining purplish black spot at extreme base, purplish black spot situated between two ferrugineous red patches at costal and dorsal margins respectively, between them set a silvery grey spot; dorsal margin with a narrow silvery grey streak from base to basal 1/4; fringe dark brown. Hindwing and fringe dark brown. Legs ochreous yellow; foreleg with tibia and tarsus blackish brown on outer surface; midleg with tibia blackish brown at base and apex on outer surface, with brown bristles at middle and apex, tarsus blackish brown on dorsal surface; hindleg tibia with long dark brown bristles at apex, tarsus blackish brown on dorsal surface, with dark brown bristles at apices of basal three tarsomeres. Abdomen shinning black on dorsal surface; yellowish brown on ventral surface.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 36 View FIGURES 33‒38 ). Uncus wide at base, narrowed to before straight apex, with long setae laterally. Gnathos lingulate, broad at base, slightly narrowed to apex; apex with a small pointed process medially, curved downward in laterally view. Tegumen with height 1.7 times length of uncus. Valva sub-rectangular, straight on dorsal margin, obtusely rounded at apex; cucullus densely setose, ill-defined; costa thumb-shaped; inner process short, cylindrical; sacculus 3/5 length of valva, narrowly banded, slightly concave near base on ventral margin, not free from valva apically. Vinculum narrowly banded; saccus triangular, narrowed to pointed apex, 3/5 length of uncus. Juxta subrounded; anellar lobes elliptical, with short setae, approximately same length as juxta. Aedeagus approximately 1.3 times length of valva, wide at base, narrowed from base to rounded apex, with a sub-rectangular sclerite near base; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 58 View FIGURES 57‒61 ). Intersegmental membrane between papillae anales and eighth abdominal segment approximately twice length of papillae anales. Apophyses posteriores approximately 1.8 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth segment straight and with long setae on posterior margin; eighth tergite semi-roundly produced anteriorly; eighth sternite concave in V-shape anteromedially. Antrum short funnel-shaped, weakly sclerotized. Duc- tus bursae almost uniformly wide. Corpus bursae elongate oval, with dense microspines; signum narrowly arched, placed on anterior 1/3. Appendix bursae originating from transition of ductus bursae and corpus bursae, with about 46 denticles; bulla roundly dilated, located at basal 2/5; ductus seminalis with dense granules distally.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ferro- and rufus, referring to the forewing having two ferrugineous red patches.
