Diagnosis. The new species is similar to S. fusciumeraris Terada, 2013 and S. aprica Meyrick, 1913 externally and internally. It can be distinguished from S. fusciumeraris by the forewing having a rectangular median patch, in the male genitalia by the cucullus concave and finely serrate on the dorsal margin, in the female genitalia by the appendix bursae with 18‒20 denticles basally. In S. fusciumeraris , the forewing has a sub-trapezoidal median patch, the cucullus is straight and smooth on the dorsal margin, and the appendix bursae has 9‒14 denticles basally. It can be distinguished from S. aprica in the male genitalia by the valva narrowed to pointed apex and the aedeagus with a cornutus, in the female genitalia by the antrum lacking an inverted conical plate posteriorly and the appendix bursae with 18‒20 denticles basally. In S. aprica , the valva is almost uniformly wide to rounded apex and the aedeagus lacks a cornutus; the antrum has an inverted conical plate posteriorly and the appendix bursae has 50 denticles.
Description. Adult ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 3‒12 ). Wingspan 16.0‒ 18.5 mm. Head with frons cream; vertex and occiput yellow, with metallic luster. Labial palpus yellowish white on inner surface, yellow on outer surface, in some individuals second segment with a fine longitudinal brown line in basal half on outer surface. Antenna yellow. Collar, thorax and tegula yellow; thorax with a brown spot posteriorly, tegula yellow except ochreous brown basally in some individuals. Forewing yellow; costal margin blackish brown, forming a narrow costal streak wide at base, narrowed and paler toward apex; with three large blackish brown patches: basal patch connected with costal streak anteriorly, occupying approximately 1/8 length of wing; median patch between basal 1/4 and middle, rectangular, reaching costal streak anteriorly, reaching dorsal margin posteriorly; distal patch situated before apex; fringe pale brown, yellow around apex. Hindwing and fringe brown. Legs yellow on dorsal surface, yellowish white on ventral surface; foreleg with tibia and tarsus blackish brown on outer surface; midleg with tibia bearing long yellow bristles at middle and apex, tarsus blackish brown at apex; hindleg with tibia bearing long yellow bristles at basal 1/3, 2/3 and apex dorsally, tarsus with long yellow bristles at apex of basal tarsomere, blackish brown at apex. Abdomen greyish brown on dorsal surface, white on ventral surface.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 34 View FIGURES 33‒38 ). Coremata developed, located at intersegmental membrane between seventh segment and eighth segment. Uncus slender, slightly narrowed to apex, with long setae laterally, distal 1/5 beak-shaped in lateral view. Gnathos elongate triangular, wide at base, slightly narrowed to apex, apex curved downward in lateral view. Tegumen with height 1.5 times length of uncus, with peniculi anteriorly. Valva wide at base, slightly narrowed to apex; cucullus horn-shaped, concave and finely serrate on dorsal margin, obtuse on ventral margin, distinctly narrowed to pointed apex distally; costa triangular; inner process slender, hooked; sacculus 2/5 length of valva, narrowly banded, slightly concave at basal 1/3 on ventral margin, pointed at apex, not free from valva. Vinculum narrowly banded. Juxta sub-ovate, obtuse on posterior margin, with two parallel longitudinal folds; anellar lobes clubbed, with long setae. Aedeagus stout, 4/5 length of valva, with a narrow sclerite near base; distal process clubbed, 1/3 length of aedeagus; cornutus spine-shaped, 1/3 length of aedeagus, located at middle ( Fig. 34a View FIGURES 33‒38 ).
Female genitalia ( Fig. 57 View FIGURES 57‒61 ). Intersegmental membrane between papillae anales and eighth abdominal segment approximately three times length of papillae anales.Apophyses posteriores approximately 1.5 times length of apophyses anteriores. Eighth segment straight on posterior margin, with long setae; eighth tergite rectangular; eighth sternite produced anteromedially. Antrum cup-shaped, with dense microspines on inner surface. Ductus bursae almost uniform, approximately 1.5 times length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae rounded; two signa at middle of corpus bursae: larger one edged with dense microspines, medially with an erect sclerite furcate on one end, smaller one narrowly elongate, serrate on one side, with microspines. Appendix bursae arising from transition of corpus bursae and ductus bursae, with 18‒20 large denticles basally; bulla located at basal 1/4 and before middle respectively; ductus seminalis narrowly tubular, with dense granules distally.
Distribution. China (Hainan, Yunnan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin sub- and fusciumeraris , referring to the similarity of the two species.
