Meoneura Rondani, 1856 View in CoL View at ENA
The genus Meoneura is by far the largest genus of Carnidae and there are 91 valid species known. The Nearctic species can be identified with Sabrosky (1959, 1961). The basis for the identification of the Palaearctic species reported here are the keys of Collin (1930) and Papp (1978). Additionally, the original descriptions of all species that are published later are taken into account. The identification of those species that cannot be identified with the keys of Collin (1930) and Papp (1978) are discussed in detail below. At present, only males can be identified with characters of the postabdomen.
