HOLOTYPE: AMNH 250787 About AMNH , adult male, collected on Tafahi (= Boscawen) Island, 15.52S, 173.55W (Times Atlas), Tonga, on 25 August 1925, by Joe Hicks on the Whitney South Sea Expedition (no. 19151). GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: In the original description, Mayr cited the AMNH number of the holotype and gave the range as Tafahi (= Boscawen) and Niuatoputapu (= Keppel) islands. Joe Hicks was a crew member on the Whitney Expedition vessel, France, who learned to prepare specimens .
