Nomenclatural notes: —Concerning the typification of Cacalia involucrata Kunth View in CoL in Humboldt et al. (1818: 130), it should be noted that another specimen belonging to the material collected by Humboldt and Bonpland was kept at B, but it was apparently destroyed in 1943. A picture of it is currently available at F (F-0BN015618). Since it cannot be proved that the specimen at P was the only element used to describe this species, we correct the use of the term holotype to lectotype (see Art. 9.1 Note 1 and Art. 9.9).

In the protologue of the name S. caldasensis Cuatrecasas (1944: 28) , the author referred to a single collection from COL as the “typus” of the name. Since there is one single specimen of this collection at COL, it should be accepted as the holotype (Art. 9.1 Note 1). The plant on the right-hand is excluded because it corresponds to another species.
