Taxonomy: Type specimens of Xyleborus machili View in CoL could not be located in the NIAES collection. However, the description of the species, and specimens identified as X. machili View in CoL by Miloš Knížek agree in all relevant characters with the holotype of X. depressus (NHMW). The holotype of Xyleborus kojimai View in CoL (NMNH) was examined and found to be conspecific with the holotype of X. depressus . X. machili View in CoL has priority over the other two species. It has the generic characters of Ancipitis Hulcr and Cognato, 2013, and is here transferred to that genus.
