Taxonomy: The holotype of Xyleborus miyazakiensis is listed by Murayama as being deposited in his collection. Examination of Murayama’s collection at NMNH revealed that the type was missing. The species description is detailed and unambiguously matches the lectotype of X. armipennis (NHMW), images of the Xyleborus wakayamensis holotype ( NIAES 2018) as well as three non-type specimens from China (MSUC). The species has the characters of Cyclorhipidion given above for C. bispinum , and is, therefore, transferred to that genus.
