Taxonomy: Type specimens of Xyleborus montanus View in CoL could not be located in the NIAES collection. Niisima’s description of Xyleborus montanus View in CoL was examined. The species is unambiguously Xylosandrus brevis View in CoL and is here placed in synonymy.
