genus Orophyllus Beier, 1954
Type species: Orophyllus montanus Beier, 1954
Generic diagnosis. Medium to large size. Vertex wide and slightly extended forward. Fastigium of vertex tapered, with a feeble medial longitudinal sulcus. Anterior margin of pronotum is slightly arcuate, posterior margin broadly rounded, with two transverse grooves. Posterior transverse groove located behind the middle. The lateral lobes higher than width. Prosternum unarmed, meso-and metasternum strongly transverse, the former with entire, smooth anterior and lateral margin. Sc and R separated from the base of the tegmina, the Rs emerges from the proximal part of the R. The hind wings shorter than tegmina. Each leg armed on the internal ventral margin of the femur. Tympana similar on both sides of fore tibiae. Cerci relatively straight, curved inwards dorsally. Apex of male subgenital plate stalk-shaped, with long styli. Ovipositor saber-shaped, with oblique folds at the distal end of the lateral surface of the dorsal valve.
