Diagnosis. Females of S. nigristernis resemble those of S. velox ( Figs 75–77 View FIGURES 72–77 ) by the epigyne with MS roughly trapezoid, widest medio-anteriorly ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 35–40 ). They are distinguished from those of the latter species by the MS two times longer than wide and margins of CO oblique ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 35–40 ) (MS as long as wide and margins of CO roughly longitudinal in S. velox ). Males are unknown.
Redescription. Female (holotype): Total length 19.4. Prosoma: 7.9 long, 7.3 wide. Opisthosoma: 10.8 long, 3.7 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.58, 0.44, 0.30, 0.45; interdistances: 0.48, 0.20, 0.74, 0.70, 0.48, 0.32. Legs: I: 32.9 (9.2, 3.7, 8.7, 9.0, 2.3); II: 34.6 (10.1, 3.8, 9.1, 9.4, 2.2); III: 25.7 (8.0, 3.3, 6.4, 6.1, 1.9); IV: 28.4 (8.7, 3.0, 7.0, 7.6, 2.1). Spination follows the generic pattern. Epigyne: EF longer than wide; MAB embedded in EF; TP two times longer than wide; LL touching posteriorly ( Figs 38 View FIGURES 35–40 , 43 View FIGURES 41–44 ). Vulva: FW antero-mediad; GP cylindrical, slightly longer than wide, arising from ducts at second turn; SP irregularly rounded; FD antero laterad ( Figs 39–40 View FIGURES 35–40 , 44 View FIGURES 41–44 ).
Male: Unknown.
Variation. Females (n = 9): total length 16.0–23.7; prosoma length 7.2–8.2; femur I length 8.3–10.0.
Distribution. Known from northern and central Brazil, states of Amazonas, Acre, Rondônia, Pará and Mato Grosso ( Fig. 90 View FIGURES 89–90 ).
