REMARKS. – Metcalf (1963a) included Argentina and Bolivia in the distribution of the species. However, this was based on Delétang (1923) who stated the genus is Amazonian in its distribution with H. maculipennis being found in the border regions to the argentinobolivian political limits. Therefore, Delétang (1923) did not attribute the species to Argentina or Bolivia. Past reports of the species inhabiting Argentina and Bolivia are considered to be erroneous ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2011a; Sanborn & Heath 2014).
DISTRIBUTION. – The species has been recorded from Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Panama, and Peru ( Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2011a; 2013; 2018c).
