REMARKS. One of the species of Carineta with infuscation on the apical cells of the wings. It can be distinguished from all the other species except C. boliviana by the infuscation being found on the apical cells of both fore wing and hind wings along with distal anal cell 3 of the hind wing. It can be distinguished from C. boliviana by the lateral angles of the pronotum being slightly wider than the mesonotum and angled mediad at a lesser acute angle, less triangular head, and reduced piceous markings on the mesothorax of C. lydiae .
DISTRIBUTION. The species has been reported only from Bolivia ( Sanborn 2013).
