Hieracium thessalum Formánek (1896: 292) .

Lectotype (designated here):— GREECE. Tafilvris in O [lympo] Th [essaliae], 1895, E. Formánek ( BRNM 7309 /36) ( Fig. 5 ).

Note: —This species, described from the Olympus Mountains in Greece, is morphologically intermediate between H. pannosum s. lat. and H. sparsum Frivaldszky (1836: 436) , and should be included into the H. jankae aggregate, which is based on H. jankae Uechtritz (1873: 239) .
