Anastrepha montei is a widespread species in Latin America from Mexico to Argentina, but no formal publications have reported it from Colombia. Other specimens had been collected in surveys in Tolima. The specimens studied have the ocellar setae developed, scutal vittae present, katepisternal seta absent; one specimen has wing 7.3 mm long, 3.1 mm wide; oviscape 1.75 mm long, spiracles at basal 0.55 mm, aculeus 1.30 mm long, aculeus tip 0.046 mm long.
