Genus Pachygnatha Sundevall, 1823 View in CoL
Pachygnatha Sundevall, 1823: 16 View in CoL
Diagnosis: Males of Pachygnatha resemble those of Glenognatha by the presence of a retrolateral apophysis on the conductor ( Figs 13B, D View FIGURE 13 , 14 View FIGURE 14 ; Cabra-García & Brescovit 2016, fig. 74G), but can be distinguished from the latter by the paracymbium with a middle apophysis and pointing to the same direction as the cymbium ( Figs 2B View FIGURE 2 , 8B View FIGURE 8 ), versus the paracymbium without a middle apophysis but with a more or less expanded distal portion and pointing to the opposite direction in relation to the cymbium in Glenognatha ( Cabra-García & Brescovit 2016, figs 11H, 16H). Pachygnatha can also be distinguished from Glenognatha in both male and female by the position of tracheal spiracle, distinctly nearer to the colulus in Pachygnatha ( Fig. 7B View FIGURE 7 ) than in Glenognatha ( Cabra-García & Brescovit 2016, fig. 14G).
Type species: Pachygnatha clercki Sundevall, 1823 View in CoL from Norway .
