Type locality. Andaman Sea , Thailand ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .

Record from Thailand. South-eastern Andaman Sea, next to Phuket Island ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Habitat and depth range. Marine, depth: 28–80 m ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002) .

Distribution. To date, this species is distributed only in the Andaman Sea ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002).

Remarks. The term “validisaeta” is derived from validus meaning strong in combination with saeta meaning stiff hair, referring to the robust modified seta on the fourth pleopod of male ( Fukuoka & Murano 2002). See Murano (1990) for detailed identification key of Hypererythrops .
