Neotropical: 1) Argentina, 2) Brazil ( Onofrio et al. 2013, Lamattina et al. 2016, Guglielmone et al. 2021).

Clifford et al. (1973) doubted the validity of Ixodes schulzei but provided no reasons for their opinion.
