Oriental: 1) Taiwan; Palearctic: 1) Japan (except the Ryukyu Islands) ( Kolonin 2009, Kuo et al. 2017).

Ixodes columnae was not included as an Oriental species in Guglielmone & Robbins (2018), but records of this tick on Taiwanese non-migratory birds by Kuo et al. (2017) support its presence in Taiwan.
