Several records of Haemaphysalis paraturturis were published as Haemaphysalis bispinosa intermedia , a synonym of Haemaphysalis intermedia , in Nuttall & Warburton (1915) and Sharif (1928), as discussed in Hoogstraal et al. (1963b).
