Diagnosis. Acailandica subtilana is similar to A. maja and A. acailandiae but is distinguished by a brownish orange thorax, a wedge-shaped marking extending from the termen beneath the apex, and the presence of numerous small spots (some forming incomplete fasciae) in the dorsoterminal one-fourth of the wing ( Fig. 9 ). The genitalia were not examined. The lectotype from Amazonas, Brazil is deposited in the BMNH.
