(Bignoniaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 21(4): 353. 1922. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Haikou, 12 October 1921, F. A. McClure 1143 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 7648) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00093052 image!, NY 00328905 image!, NY 00328906 image!).

The name Radermachera hainanensis Merr. was validly published with two gatherings “ McClure 7648 ” and “ Hongkong Herbarium 453 ” cited in the protologue ( Merrill, 1922a), but no holotype was designated. However, the collecting number on the label of the syntype specimen of “ McClure 7648 ” in A is actually 1143, while its herbarium number is 7648. Thus, the collecting number citation in the protologue is erroneous.
