(Rubiaceae) in Lingnan Sci. J. 11(1): 58. 1932. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Hongmao Shan, 3 May 1929, W. T. Tsang, Tang & H. Fung 45 (i.e. Lingnan University Herbarium 17576) (holotype: NY 00133067 image!; isotype: A 00032356 image!).

The name Randia hainanensis Merr. was validly published with a gathering “ Tsang, Tang & Fung 17576 ” in NY designated as the type ( Merrill, 1932). However, the collecting number on the lable of the holotype specimen is 45, while its herbarium number is Lingnan University Herbarium 17576. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the designation of type is to be corrected.
