(Myrsinaceae) in Philipp. J. Sci. 23(3): 257. 1923. TYPE:— CHINA. Hainan: Wuzhishan, Wuzhi Shan , alt. 1400 m, 5 May 1922, F. A. McClure 2900 (i.e. Canton Christian College Herbarium 9454) (syntype: PNH, destroyed, A 00025480 image!, A 00025481 image!, NY 00329253 image!).

The name Maesa acuminatissima Merr. was validly published with a gathering “ McClure 9454 ” designated as the type ( Merrill, 1923). However, on the label of the syntype specimen ( A 00025481 ) exists in A, the collecting number is 2900 and the herbarium number is Canton Christian College Herbarium 9454. Therefore, the erroneous collecting number in the designation of type is to be corrected.
