Distribution: China (CE, NO, SE, SW), Japan, Korea, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan. The species is also known to occur in Thailand (RAB, unpublished records). [2a]
Hosts: Normally breeding below the bark of conifers, especially Pinus (Pinaceae) , but also recorded from Larix , Picea (Pinaceae) , and Cornus (Cornaceae) .
Taxonomy: We have examined syntypes of D. luteus (NHML) , and the holotype of O. formosanus (NMW) , and compared them with specimens in RAB from Japan, Taiwan and Thailand. O. formosanus clearly falls within the range of variation of C. luteus .
