Distribution: China (SE, SW), Japan, Korea, Taiwan. [2a]

Hosts: Polyphagous ( Beaver & Gebhardt 2006). Recorded from Cinnamomum (Lauraceae) , Cryptomeria (Taxodiaceae) , Eugenia (Myrtaceae) , Styrax (Styracaceae) , and Wendlandia (Rubiaceae) in Taiwan ( Murayama 1934a).

Biology: The biology of the species has been studied in Japan by Kinuura & Hijii (1991), and the associated ambrosia fungi by Kinuura et al. (1991) and Nakashima et al. (1992).
