Xyleborus attenuatus Blandford, 1894a: 114 .
Distribution: Japan, Korea, Taiwan. [2a]
Hosts: Recorded from Carpinus (Betulaceae) , Castanea , Fagus , Quercus (Fagaceae) , Malus , Prunus (Rosaceae) . We have not been able to trace actual records of the additional host trees in the genera, Diospyros, Hamamelis and Magnolia , included by Wood and Bright (1992).
Biology: Nakashima et al. (1992) describe the gallery system and characterise the associated ambrosia fungi.
